MTV Staying Alive Event hits Manchester

On Thursday night I attended the MTV Staying Alive event held at Viva in Manchester, thanks to the beaut Jsky who invited me along for the evening! Having attended multiple of Jsky’s events before, I was so excited when he told me that he was teaming up with Kiehl’s to host the MTV Staying Alive charity event because I just knew that it would be an amazing night, and I certainly wasn’t let down.

Upon arrival to Viva, we were treated to the incredible DJ Skills of Damon Hess, who Jsky has also worked with on his single. Viva was kitted out with familiar faces, lots of alcohol and an amazing atmosphere. You could tell from the beginning that this was going to be a very special night, and raise lots of money for charity.

I was particularly looking forward to the performances that evening, as we all know I love a good live act! The performers for the evening were the incredibly talented Jsky, Kiera Weathers, Kris Evans and Tobi Sunmola. I was so impressed with every single performer, each artist bringing something so unique to the stage and keeping us all entertained, singing, and enjoying ourselves. Jsky treated us to his own original music, Liv and Myself – both of which were such catchy songs they left you singing along for the rest of the night. I was so impressed with Kiera’s vocals. If you have never heard Kiera live then I suggest that you get down to the next place she performs, because that girl will blow you away! Not many people can smash a Beyonce song but Kiera left me speechless with just how talented she was. Kris Evans was again, incredible and you when he was performing you couldn’t help but really take in the lyrics and really feel a connection to him, and his songs. He treated us to a single, A Christmas song, which, left many of people moved by some of the lyrics – so be sure to keep an eye out for this release in December! Tobi Sunmola last year, was featured on the BBC Introducing Stage and Radio One’s Big Weekend, and after watching him perform, I can see why! If you have never checked Tobi out, go and check him out and have a listen!

The night was an overall success, and everyone there raised over £450 for such an incredible charity! You can still get involved and you can still make a difference which is what this is all about!
